Inside and outside, Stream Team hosts lots of free workshops, talks and field classes throughout the year that are fun and educational.
Stream Team sponsors many different types of workshops, classes, and field classes taught by experts in their field. Naturescaping for Water and Wildlife workshops, Meet the Trees of Washington field class, and Henderson Watershed Tour are so popular that they are scheduled regularly. Others, like the Jean Michel Cousteau lecture, are once-in-a-lifetime treats!
Over the past few years, workshops and field classes have covered topics such as low impact development, birds and bats, salmon, reclaimed water, rain gardens, geology of South Sound, local history, fruiting native plants and shorelines.
Each workshop or field class features captivating guest speakers and many include hands-on experiences. Past hands-on activities include building bird and bat houses, touring the LOTT reclaimed water facility, visiting local geologic sites, identifying native plants and eating shellfish! Sign up for a workshop or field class, and experience what comes next!
Talks, workshops and field classes are typically held weekday evenings or on weekends. Many are suitable for families. Transportation for field classes is provided. Light refreshments are served at workshops. Attend Stream Team workshop, talk or field class -- It’s a great way to meet people and interact with your community while learning something new!
